I think this attempt at a new style is great!
However, I think that you should work on the structure of the face; more specifically, I am talking about the cheek on the left. The eye is not supposed to go over the cheekbone, so if you just rounded out the cheek more and/or brought the eye more closer to the nose, it'd be great.

I love how you did her nose, it's quite cute and I want to pinch it.
The colors are, in my opinion, just the right shade for what you are trying to accomplish! The roses in her hair add a nice soft touch to this little pixel, which I really love. The use of a colored and shaped background also adds a cute touch to the pixel.

My next to last suggestion would be to be careful of any extra pixels on your drawing: you don't want to create a "staircase" effect, which could lead to a clunky looking drawing. Seeing as you just learned to make the lineart from a sketch, I would suggest that you just keep practicing until you achieve nice smooth lines
Otherwise, I think this looks precious and I love her expression!
